Step beyond the traditional mansion tour and explore how Glensheen was designed, built, and shaped by its place in American history. This guided experience highlights the architecture, materials, and design influences that brought the Congdon estate to life in 1908. As you move through the mansion and surrounding buildings, you’ll discover how Glensheen reflects the ideals of the Gilded Age, the revival of European styles, and the rise of American industry and technology. Positioned roughly halfway between the American Revolution and today, the estate offers a unique lens for understanding how architecture, wealth, and culture evolved as the United States grew into a modern nation. Available June 5 through October 16.
